Potty training in the midst of it all

It feels like forever since I posted last, but it's actually only been about a week.  Around here we've had croup (big brother), then sore throat and no voice (mommy) and now ear infection (little brother).  Daddy is the only one who has escaped sickness - so far.

In the midst of all of that, we are making potty training progress....YAY!!!!  It seems like the trend has been, one good day and then something happens to make it so we can't do it again the next day.  But this week has been great!  He went a half day in no diaper on Wednesday, all day no diaper on Thursday (except nap of course) and about half a day with no diaper on Friday.  But Friday we had a poop accident - let me just say ICK!!!!!!!  It seems like he might have a stomach bug now though because he was in a diaper all day today due to diarrhea.  He keeps saying his tummy doesn't feel good.  So now, another step backwards.  But I really think he gets it.  Once we can all get better I think he'll have it down.

Here is a picture from potty training on Wednesday when he was helping me dust. I chose to go completely pant-less for training.

And from yesterday when he wouldn't put his sucker down for anything :)  And yes, his socks don't match, but he insists on wearing his "motorcycle" socks all the time (they say Harley Davidson on the bottom).

On the up side, I'm down over 12 pounds now!  I'm really starting to see it in my face and especially my clothes.  Even my "small" jeans have room in the legs now and it's awesome.  We are going on my husbands company trip to San Diego in a few weeks and I can't wait to feel good about myself in some summer clothes.  I tried on my favorite fancy sun dress yesterday that I haven't worn in at least 2 summers and guess what?  It fit perfectly!  It will actually be too big this summer, but I will get use out of it on the trip.  I tried on my shorts and a few Capri's and I could button them but they were just a touch snug.  They should be perfect in time for the trip.

I'll leave you with a picture of the current sickie.  I've been able to get a few little laughs out of him in his good moments and they are so sweet.  I love this shirt he is wearing!  I have many pictures of Riley in this shirt too.

I'm so impressed that you are potty training during the newborn phase with your second. It completely overwhelms me everytime I think about it, so we haven't even tried to start, even though Brayden is showing signs of readiness.

I have never left a comment on your blog even though I follow it. I felt like I needed to tell you Congratulations on your weight loss. It is not an easy feat and it is something to be very proud of, keep up the good work. I have lost 17 lbs. in 9 months and it is something that you really have to continue to work at. It is amazing how fast it can go right back on. Have fun on your trip..
