Aiden's Doctor thinks he has reflux (and I agree). He's thrown up almost every night last week, even with one end of his mattress elevated. We are supposed to be getting a referral to a GI Doctor this week and I'm gonna call my Chiropractor. The little guy is pretty miserable.
On a totally random note I finally bought him a breathable bumper! I had one of those 20% off Babies R Us coupons so I ran down and got it. He's been trying to roll over in bed so it was time. We are also still working on not swaddling him. We stopped while he was sick so he would sleep better, but we are starting back up again. He arches his back and rolls over with the swaddle on and I was worried he would not be able to roll back. The same night I bought the bumper he actually succeeded for the first time and got stuck against the side of the crib! It's like he knew the bumper was there now so it wouldn't hurt. Hubby had to go rescue him, poor baby. Another reason to get the breathable one though! So Sunday was the first full day of no swaddle. First nap this morning was rough, but he's done well the rest of the day.
I also bought him a new clutch blanket. He had one of those ones with the elephant head in the middle, but the elephant was really bulky. He loves the really fuzzy crib blankets but I don't feel it's safe to let him sleep with those. I finally found a super fuzzy clutch and I was so excited! He took right to it and loves it too. I'm gonna go back and get another for a back up. We never had a back up for Riley's clutch and it was hard to wash it because he always slept with it.
I honestly don't remember this no-swaddle transition with Riley. I know he was younger because he just kept getting out of it. He didn't have any issues transitioning. Anyone have any tips?

can you just swaddle his legs and upper body, but keep his arms loose? That's what we did with Brayden and it worked well in transition. With Connor we just did cold turkey, but he never really liked the swaddle to begin with, so there was never really a transition period.
Probiotics might help him with the reflux, it's a great (and proven) product for that. Garden of Life offers one that would be appropriate for him:

That's super cool about the breathable bumper!!
I am a big fan of swaddling and swaddled both of mine. I moved them out of it gradually by putting one arm out and then both but still swaddling their torso. I have also always used sleepsacks (baby sleeping bags that leave their arms out) and found these helped as they still feel slightly swaddled.
All the best xxxx
