Faith Building Friday (with linky)

Well considering I've been up to my knees in pukey, cranky, needy baby this week, I haven't had much "me" time to be uplifted. I'm really hoping some of you might share your thoughts for the week so I can gain strength from you.

Again my Faith Building Friday comes from Beth Moore's "David: Seeking a Heart Like His". There are many times in the Bible when there is death and destruction that we don't understand. I believe her two ways to respond can be applied to any trial in our life, as well as seemingly unfair events in the Bible. I hope your faith is built by knowing that God is sovereign and put your trust in Him!
"We don't always have the explanations for certain events and acts of God. He is sovereign. He owes us no explanation. He is also obligated to teach us to walk by faith and not by sight. When Scripture records an event or judgment of God that seems cruel or unfair, we need to respond in the following two ways:
*Acknowledge that His ways are higher than ours. We do not have all the information nor the understanding. We have no idea the depth of evil God may have seen in human hearts that necessitated such judgment.
*Acknowledge what we do know about God. Anytime you are overwhelmed by what you do not know or understand about God, consider what you do know about Him. Your heart and mind will be quieted, and you will be able to walk in faith....
When faced in Scripture with something you don't understand and God seems cruel, never forget how God identifies Himself. "Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming 'The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.'" (Exodus 34:6)
When you don't know why, a personal history with God will tell you who."
